our Purpose

Time For A Change is a certified 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization that was founded to raise mental health awareness.

Many teenagers are fighting mental illness, and the number is ever-increasing. By educating the population about mental illness from a young age, we can create a broader support-network for those with mental illness, and let them know that they are not alone; removing the stigma around mental illness leads others to understand that mental illness is not something to fear.

Many people fighting mental illness use art as an outlet to expression their thoughts, feelings, and mental health in a positive, creative way. There are many different avenues through which art therapy can be pursued: dance, music, visual arts, culinary arts, and countless others. Time For A Change is a platform for artists to share their connection with mental health; the very act of discussing mental illness in a public forum is part of a movement to eradicate the stigma around mental illness.

If you are an artist who relates to this connection, don’t hesitate to DM the Time For A Change Instagram account to share your art through the platform of Time For A Change. Your bravery in speaking out could be the thing that encourages someone else to open up about their personal struggle with mental illness. Oftentimes, we have no idea of the effect our actions have on those around us. Our actions have consequences, and the smallest interactions can cause a butterfly effect. I encourage you, if a friend or family member seems to be struggling with a mental illness, or even having a bad day, to be caring; to be empathetic; to be kind.

“it is an odd paradox that a society, which can now speak openly and unabashedly about topics that were once unspeakable, still remains largely silent when it comes to mental illness.”
